The Sloose tab in Zoho CRM
Sloose runs at app.sloose.com and needs nothing installed; see Getting started for the account, the organisation and the connection. The tab is a convenience for people who live in the CRM: the same import, framed.
- Add the Sloose widget to your CRM, in Setup → Developer Hub → Widgets: a new widget named
Sloose, of type Web Tab, hosted External, with its base URL pointing at
https://widget.sloose.com/. - Give it a tab, in Setup → Customization → Modules and Fields → Web Tabs: a new tab whose source is Widgets, with the Sloose widget chosen — then name it Sloose, because choosing the widget clears the name. That is the whole of the tab: it creates nothing and removing it ends nothing. A tab that only links to the same address is not enough: Sloose learns which CRM it is in from Zoho’s widget SDK, which answers a widget and nothing else. (Zoho Marketplace does not install Sloose today; when the extension is published there, it will add this same tab for you.)
- Open the tab and sign in with Zoho. Inside the tab Zoho is the only way in; an emailed link works on app.sloose.com itself. If you are already in a Sloose organisation that holds this CRM, that is all. If not, the tab asks you to sign in with Zoho once more, and on Zoho’s screen you choose this CRM’s organisation: that is how Sloose knows you are one of its users, and an emailed link cannot say which CRM you belong to.
- If you are in an organisation that holds a connection to this CRM, the tab opens that organisation’s imports, and a
new import writes to this CRM unless you choose another. Otherwise:
- If other Sloose organisations hold this CRM, the tab names them. Request access asks that organisation’s administrators to invite you, which they answer on the organisation’s People page. Once one approves, the tab offers Accept and open Imports right there; the invitation arrives by email too. An organisation that would rather not be named turns off Named to the CRM’s users on its connection’s Overview.
- If you administer organisations that don’t hold it, you can connect it to one of them.
- Whether or not anybody holds it, Set up Sloose for your company makes an organisation — named after the CRM unless you change the name — with you as its owner and its trial started (or on Free, said on the card beforehand, where you have already had your one trial), and connects the CRM to it in one step. When the tab leads with something else — an organisation to ask, or one of yours to connect it to — this is the link beneath it. If you signed in to a different CRM’s organisation on Zoho’s screen, the tab says which, and asks you to sign in again.
Removing the tab does not disconnect the CRM or close the organisation: an administrator disconnects on the connection’s Overview, under Connections in the app bar, and an owner closes the organisation from Settings › General, under Close this organisation.
